The
Tribal Chief and The American Nightmare's initial confrontation at WrestleMania
39 served as the foundation for this enormous confrontation. With the help of
The Bloodline, Reigns prevailed in a crucial conflict. Reigns was now recognized
as the main force after this triumph, leaving Rhodes to reflect on his loss.
The stage was set for a heated conflict to erupt.
According
to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the long-term plan is for
Cody Rhodes to battle The Tribal Chief for the WWE Universal Championship
again, most likely at WrestleMania 40 next year.
The
American Nightmare may eventually 'end the story' but it will take another
year.
“Reigns
vs. Rhodes is the long-term plan for the ultimate destination match, insofar as
the long term is concerned. Although WrestleMania is a likely event, there are
still a lot of unknowns at this point”, according to Meltzer.
The
American Nightmare is presently engaged in a feud with Brock
Lesnar, who assaulted him on the April 3 episode of RAW following
WrestleMania. Cody Rhodes isn't done with The Tribal Chief.

The
possibility of a match between Reigns and Rhodes at WrestleMania 40 is
intriguing since it would put two opposing styles of thinking against one
another.
Reigns represents the new era of WWE with his overwhelming physicality and relentless determination. Rhodes, on the other hand, personifies the grit of the underdog and the will to succeed in something that has eluded him his whole life.
